Aloo Paneer Curry Recipe – with step by step instructions and pictures are given here.
Aloo Paneer Curry is a tasty recipe that is prepared using potatoes and cottage cheese. This aloo paneer curry goes amazing with rotis, parathas, chapatis or with your desired variety of rice recipes. This curry is made using chopped tomatoes or tomatoes puree. Many will add fresh cream to get the creamy texture. But here, I haven’t used any cream instead made using what is available in the basic kitchen. So when you are planning to make Aloo Paneer Curry, don’t worry about the availability of the ingredients. Just make sure to get paneer and potatoes.
In this Aloo Paneer Curry, I have used store-bought Paneer, but you can also use homemade Paneer if you have them. Moreover, you can use Tofu instead of Paneer, if you feel Paneer is a dairy product. You can also add blend cashew paste to get the creamy texture, and this can be used instead of fresh cream. So all try this recipe and let me know how it turns out for you.

Steps for making Aloo Paneer Curry
Heat 2 tbsp oil in the pan. Add the Paneer and roast them until they turn a golden brown.
Once they turned golden brown, transfer them to a kitchen tissue to drain excess oil.
Then in the pan, add a tbsp of oil and add whole spices to it. Saute them for a few seconds until they turn aromatic.
Next, add chopped onions. Saute them until they become translucent.
Then add all the spices. Saute them until the raw smell goes off.
Next, add chopped tomatoes to them. Saute them until the tomatoes turn mushy.
Then add chopped potatoes. Saute the potatoes for a few mins to coat the masala well on potatoes.
Then add enough water to the curry. I have added one cup of water so that the potatoes will become soft.
Add the roasted Paneer and the required amount of salt.
Finally, add few coriander leaves. Gently give a mix.
Close the pan and cook for 10 mins on low flame so that potatoes get boiled. Oil will be released at the sides. Then your Aloo Paneer Curry is ready.
Aloo Paneer Curry is ready to serve hot.
- You can also roast the potatoes along with the Paneer. That will also enhance the flavour of curry.
- If you don’t have fresh cream, just blend the cashews and mix with the curry.
- You can also use Tofu instead of Paneer in this recipe.
