SQUID ROAST RECIPE WITH STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS AND PICTURES ARE GIVEN HERE.
Squid / Kanava is one of the seafood that is majorly loved by all seafood eaters. Since am fond of squid, I always prefer to buy squid whenever I see them in the fish markets. It goes amazing with hot plain rice, roti or chapati.

I have made this squid roast a bit spicy one with semi-gravy consistency. You can either make them as a dry roast or a semi-gravy one. Both will taste absolutely yummy. The pre-preparation process in the squid is very simple. Just add a tsp of turmeric powder and half lemon juice to it. Mix them well and rest them for half an hour. Meanwhile, you can chop the onions and tomatoes. So give a try at this delicious Squid Roast and let me know how it turns out for you.

Squid Roast Recipe
Equipment
- Any type of Pan
Ingredients
TO MARINATE
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- ½ Lemon's Juice
TO COOK
- 1 Bowl Squid Chopped
- 2 medium-sized Onions chopped thinly
- 1 Tomato chopped finely
- 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
- 3 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp Pepper Powder
- 5 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- Few Curry Leaves
Instructions
MARINATION
- Add a tsp of turmeric powder to a washed squid.
- Add a half lemon's juice and mix them evenly. Let them rest for 30 mins.
MAKING OF SQUID ROAST
- Heat oil in a cooking pan and mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Then add curry leaves.
- Add chopped onions. Saute them until they turn translucent. Sprinkle some salt over it.
- Add a ginger-garlic paste and saute them until the raw smell goes off.
- Add chopped tomatoes. Saute them until they turn mushy.
- Add all the spice powders and saute them until the raw smell goes off.
- Add a little water and bring it to a boil.
- Add chopped squid and mix them gently.
- Add a cup of water. Close the pan and cook the squid until it is done.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Marinating the squid with turmeric powder and lemon helps to get rid of the fishy smell.
- I have made it a bit spicy one but you can adjust the spiciness as per your taste.
